Four local London schools to play on the main court at Netball London Live!
Two Superleague giants will be taking to the court at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday June 23rd but four local Newham schools are being given their chance to shine on the big stage too!
Students from Hallsville Primary School, Keir Hardie Primary School, Scott Wilkie Primary School and Kaizen Primary School are going to be taking part in a friendly tournament at the Copper Box Arena from 4.15pm.
In preparation for the matches, Surrey Storm athletes Sigi Burger and Charmaine Baard visited Scott Wilkie Primary School in Newham to pass on some expert advice about playing netball professionally. The players spent time with a group of students talking about their experiences in netball before heading out onto the court for some expert shooting advice.
Sumayyah Maayuf, Sports Coach at Scott Wilkie Primary School commented, “The students really valued listening to the Surrey Storm players’ stories and in particular listening to their various setbacks over the years and how they continued to be resilient to achieve their goals. Resilience is one of our school values and this message resonated strongly with the students”.
